Palm Abbe Digital Wine Refractometer
Measure Brix, Baume, Oechsle-, KMW, and the actual sugar content (grams/liter) of grape juice and grape must.
The VINO1 Digital Wine Refractometer is equally at home in the vineyard or the winery. This handheld instrument displays five different international wine units of measurement, including Brix concentration, Baume, Oechsle-, KMW, and the actual sugar content (grams/liter) of grape juice and grape must. Measurements are made with precision comparable to mid-range benchtop refractometers that cost thousands of dollars more.
This refractometer is specifically designed for the international wine industry and professional viticulturists. It features one of the most comprehensive collections of international wine scales ever assembled in a single refractometer. Messages and screens can be read in English, Spanish, French, German, or Russian. It is an indispensable tool for vineyard managers or professional winemakers who can easily afford it and would not want to be without it.
Easy to use
The Palm Abbe refractometer for wine is fast, convenient, and easy to use. Simply place a few drops of juice from grapes or grape must into the stainless steel chamber and press a button. The specially designed microprocessor provides an almost immediate reading in degrees Brix or sugar content in grams per liter. Non-linear temperature compensation is automatic and ensures that liquids between 0 and 50 °C (32 to 122 °F) are measured accurately.
The large two-line LCD display is easy to read, even in low light, and eliminates the subjectivity associated with interpreting whether a boundary line crosses small scale divisions. And it is so simple to use! The user interface consists of two buttons, one for readings and the other to step through various menu options.
Calibration is automatic and does not require the use of special calibration solutions or tools. The Palm Abbe refractometer for wine calibrates automatically to water and is ready to use within seconds. No more screws to turn and nothing to adjust.
Measurements and instructions on the digital wine refractometer can be displayed in English, Spanish, French, German, or Russian. The fourth-generation digital refractometer brings laboratory precision to the palm of your hand. Not just laboratory precision, but laboratory precision at the price of a traditional analog refractometer.
Many wine scales to choose from to meet your measurement needs
Special models are available with scales for various international units, including refractive index, specific gravity @ 20 °C, specific gravity @ 17.5 °C, density (kg/L), Plato, Baume, Oechsle, Klosterneuburger Mostwaage (KMW), and actual sugar content in grams per liter or grams per kilogram. Scales are also available for measuring the potential alcohol content in grape must and the actual alcohol percentage by volume of the finished wine via distillation.
With the PA203X digital wine refractometer, you have the flexibility to mix and match up to five different scales of your choice, giving you the ability to create a truly customized wine testing instrument.
The following wine models are available:
VINO1 – Brix, Baume, Oechsle, KMW, and sugar content (g/L)
VINO3 – Baume and sugar content (g/L)
VINO4 – Oechsle and sugar content (g/L)
